Pediatric Care Facility Special Reimbursement Class

Overview

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) recognizes the cost differences that exist in a nursing facility – or distinct unit of a nursing facility – that serves predominantly children at or below 22 years of age by adopting special Medicaid payment rates for qualifying nursing facilities. HHSC classifies nursing facilities that qualify for these special payment rates as pediatric care facilities.
