Texas Healthcare Reimbursement Information Portal

Overview

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) developed this public-facing dashboard, which displays claims, cost report data, supplemental payment programs, and directed payment program data from fiscal year 2016 to 2021. This dashboard provides external stakeholders and members of the public with a self-service method of viewing summary-level provider data without the need to submit an open records request. The public can now source, verify, or access data for various HHSC programs through Texas Healthcare Reimbursement Information Portal (THRIP).
Phase 1 of this program includes hospital services and nursing facilities (NFs).

What is the purpose of the Texas Healthcare Reimbursement Information Portal (THRIP)?

The purpose of this dashboard is to provide payment and program information to the public using a self-service method of viewing data without an Open Records Request (ORR). The public can now source, verify, or access data for various Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) programs through this interactive dashboard.

What programs are included in THRIP?

What providers are currently included in THRIP?

Providers in Hospital Facilities and Nursing Facilities (NF).

Where were the data in THRIP retrieved from?

Managed Care Organization (MCO) data was retrieved from the encounters submitted to HHSC by each MCO for all programs.

FFS claims were retrieved from the claims processed by the Texas Medicaid claims administrator.

How far back does the data go?

Fiscal year 2016

How often is data updated or imported?

The data is refreshed on the first day of each quarter. The date will be posted on the THRIP webpage. Please see the Dashboard Timeline for more information about when specific programs’ data is updated.

How does this dashboard compare to others that exist currently or previously?

No currently existing dashboard can provide the same amount of information, and no database is accessible to the public. Until now, the public would need to make an ORR to access the data needed. Please note that ORRs can still be made regardless of utilizing THRIP.

What is the Definitions & Details list?
