Pediatric Care Facility Special Reimbursement Class

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) recognizes the cost differences that exist in a nursing facility – or distinct unit of a nursing facility – that serves predominantly children at or below 22 years of age by adopting special Medicaid payment rates for qualifying nursing facilities. HHSC classifies nursing facilities that qualify for these special payment rates as pediatric care facilities.

The Reimbursement Setting Methodology for the Pediatric Care Facility Class is located at Title 1 of the Texas Administrative Code, Part 15, Chapter 355, Subchapter C, Rule 307, Subsection (c).
